The History of Riots & Rebellions in Detroit Bus Tour - 9AM - 1PM
Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History (315 East Warren Avenue, Detroit)
Maybe you've heard of the 1967 Rebellion. You may even have heard about the 1943 Race Riot. However, Detroit has had a long history of race riots, urban rebellions and racial tension. Join this Bus Tour to Learn about them all. We Meet at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History to check in at 8:45. WE DEPART AT 9AM SHARP! This bus tour will take you through Detroit's early African American History in the Underground Railroad to the formation of the two historic Black neighborhoods of Black Bottom & Paradise Valley. We will stop at the Renaissance Center for lunch in the Food Court. LUNCH IS ON YOUR OWN and NOT included in the price of the tour. After Lunch, we will explore the history of the Detroit 1967 Rebellion. We Return to the Wright Museum at 1pm. This bus tour is on a SCHOOL BUS, and all riders will be supplied with bottles of water and a snack.
